Phoenix: Pit Bull for adoption in Indianapolis

June 30th, 2008 · No Comments · successful adoptions

Phoenix Pit

<<UPDATE: We’re happy to report that Phoenix was adopted by a Twin Cities family in July! Best of luck to her and her new family. If you have an animal you’d like to feature on our site, let us know!>>

Phoenix, a cute, high-energy Pit Bull is for adoption in Indianapolis. Her owner sent the following description and pictures in an email; please contact Adopt An Animal if you’re interested in adopting this dog. This dog would do best in a one-dog household and should go through obedience training.

“I am moving to Denver, Colorado and I cannot take my dog, Phoenix because she is a Pit Bull and they are banned from the city. She is a very sweet dog and I have had her since she was 6 weeks old. I have been desperately searching for an owner to no avail and don’t not want her to be euthanized simply because of her breed. If you know anyone who would be interested please let me know! I don’t know what I am going to do if I can’t find an owner.”

Sophie and Buster:
German Shepherd and Mixed-Breed Dog Available for Adoption

April 3rd, 2008 · No Comments · successful adoptions

<<UPDATE: 4/30/2008 - I’m happy to announce that Sophie and Buster have been adopted into a loving home, together!!! - Tristan>>

These two good-looking dogs were found together wandering the Northside of Indianapolis recently. The German Shepherd (Sophie) and the pit mix (Buster) had no tags and no collars. Check out the camera-phone video above, shot by their foster “mom” who tells their story:

“Sophie, a female german shepherd, and Buster, a male pit bull mix, were found without tags or collars wandering near the NUVO offices at 4oth and Meridian St. in Indianapolis; when the owner was tracked down by their microchips, he said he’d let them out hoping they didn’t come back. They are both approx. 2 years old; have been spayed and neutered; and were given a clean bill of health by the vet this week. They are very loving, playful, and loyal dogs (both are under the impression that they are lap dogs! and they are bed hogs when given the opportunity to sleep indoors!!!) They are aggressive towards other dogs and cats, however, and should not be adopted into a home with other pets. Ideally, we hope they can stay together, as they are very attached to one another. If you would like more information contact Laura at (317)254-2400 x 5231.”

Check out their pictures, and please contact us or Laura if you’re interested in adopting these two lovable pals.
