Luna, a young female dog, is available for adoption in Indianapolis (see more photos below the description.) From the woman who found her:
“These are pictures of the dog my husband and I rescued on Friday night, August 8th. She’s the smaller one in the pictures. My husband found her in a basement of an abandoned house. We think she was in the basement for close to a month and didn’t have much to eat. She’s still very skinny and we’re pretty sure she was abused.
We named her Luna and we’re trying to find her a home. She has tons of energy and is very, very loveable. She seems to be pretty young and is very even tempered. My dog jumped all over her and wouldn’t leave her alone all weekend, and Luna didn’t bark or snip at all. She doesn’t bark and sleeps easily through the night.
We really want to find her a home. If you know someone who might be interested in adopting Luna or can help us find her a home, let us know.”

The first episode is online now, and features part 1 of an interview with Nathan Winograd, director of the No Kill Advocacy Center. If you love animals, you’ll likely be shocked, dismayed, and ultimately inspired by this series!
<<Note: This information was forwarded to us from a variety of sources. AAA is not affiliated with the MGCHS: we’re simply helping to spread the word about these pets to as many places as possible.>>
The dogs from the Marion-Grant County Humane Society (click to view them) will be euthanized if not adopted or placed in animal rescue organizations by the end of June, as the old shelter is closing and animals won’t be transferred to the new shelter. Bios and pictures of the dogs are available at the link above. Transport can be arranged; the shelter is located northwest of Indianapolis near Wabash. Please contact us if you’re interested in adopting, rescuing, or fostering any of these wonderful dogs. There are many pets choose from, including beagles, pit mixes, Treeing Walker coonhounds, labrador mixes, and a Bluetick coonhound.
This Springer Spaniel puppy was lost around 10th Street and The Monon Trail in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 23rd at about 10pm.
He is a 15 week old Springer Spaniel named Orbie and isn’t microchipped yet. He was wearing a camouflage collar without an ID tag.
Please call Caleb at (407)782-2683 or contact Adopt An Animal if you have any information of the whereabouts of this little puppy or if you’ve found this pet.
These two good-looking dogs were found together wandering the Northside of Indianapolis recently. The German Shepherd (Sophie) and the pit mix (Buster) had no tags and no collars. Check out the camera-phone video above, shot by their foster “mom” who tells their story:
“Sophie, a female german shepherd, and Buster, a male pit bull mix, were found without tags or collars wandering near the NUVO offices at 4oth and Meridian St. in Indianapolis; when the owner was tracked down by their microchips, he said he’d let them out hoping they didn’t come back. They are both approx. 2 years old; have been spayed and neutered; and were given a clean bill of health by the vet this week. They are very loving, playful, and loyal dogs (both are under the impression that they are lap dogs! and they are bed hogs when given the opportunity to sleep indoors!!!) They are aggressive towards other dogs and cats, however, and should not be adopted into a home with other pets. Ideally, we hope they can stay together, as they are very attached to one another. If you would like more information contact Laura at (317)254-2400 x 5231.”
Check out their pictures, and please contact us or Laura if you’re interested in adopting these two lovable pals.
*** This description was updated at 10:04 EST on 4/4/08 to reflect the fact that the German Shepherd is female, and to offer additional contact info. ***
