Adopt an animal! In 2007 alone, Indianapolis Animal Care and Control and the Humane Society of Indianapolis took in nearly 27,000 animals and euthanized over half of those! With so many wonderful animals to choose from and so many lives to save, why would you buy a dog, cat, or other animal from a pet store when your local shelters and rescue groups offer so much more?
AdoptAnAnimal.org’s Mission
Adopt An Animal, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a volunteer group of media professionals whose mission is to help animal shelters, rescue organizations and foster families connect homeless pets with loving, responsible households by providing online video, podcasts, news and other pet-related information. AAA is not a shelter and does not house animals, but we strive to connect good pets with great people!

The animals would love it if you’d leave comments on the website about the animals, subscribe to our email updates or podcast, and share the videos and links with family, friends and coworkers.
If you’re part of an animal shelter, rescue organization or if you foster animals in your home:
We’d love to help you get your animals adopted! We recognize that many animal rescue organizations and shelters might not have the staff or technical experience to share their animals’ availability with America. With this in mind, Adopt An Animal can:
- help you record videos of your available pets
- place those videos on AdoptAnAnimal.org, PetFinder.com, YouTube and other websites
- set up your blog, which will help people find your animals more easily
- help you with audio or video podcasts showcasing your animals
- volunteer in other ways too.
